Busted radiator, probably transmission cooler. Can't open hood so I don't know status of fan assembly, water pump, etc Thanks a lot Ft. Mitchell, KY traffic... At a to see when/ I can repair it, or get it to Michigan.

Man, that blows! Luckily, it would appear that the important parts (fenders, core support, etc) are in ok shape.

I am so sorry man!!! I know that feels. Lost my 1992 Tempo that way, which was not nearly as cool, but was an important car for me.

Damn, I was reading this and thinking: "Didn't this guy just buy it?" Then I saw the Monday post. :(
Sorry to see it, hope the damage is as small as possible on the inside.

Are you alright? Are you getting insurance money?

Man that sucks. If I lived anywhere near there(I'm 13 hrs away) I'd roadtrip out to help you thrash it back to drivable.

Really sorry to hear it. That just sucks, all the way around. Hope some Kentucky Oppos can maybe help you out!
1) Hope you're okay. Front/rear enders can really make sore necks/backs.
2) Hope the insurance and repair process goes smoothly for you!

well shit man that sucks. Well with old cars like camaro and mustang parts are redily available to get. You have a good chance of saving her. But big question. How did it happen?
![]() 07/16/2014 at 11:42 |

Damn, that's no good.
How'd it happen?

Last I heard, OP had severe injuries and had to go to the doctor. He should definitely talk to a lawyer. *nudge nudge, wink wink*

Meme faces don't often have a place on Oppo, but in this case it fits.

Wait, did you just buy this yesterday or am I getting you confused with a different Opponaut???

I love that car so, so much.

Heh heh! It's always interesting to see how the claims handlers try to get people to sign off on the medical as quickly as possible, within a day or so, knowing that a lot of the soreness and other injuries won't show up until a good bit later. Sleazy, but it sure does keep their costs down. People are oddly eager to say, "Yeah! I feel great, I'm okay, good to go!" and then about a week later all orthopedic hell breaks loose, but the release is already signed.
Still laughing at the *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*... "So... your Camaro... does it go? Eh, does she go? KnowWhatIMean, squire?"

Shit :( what actually happened?

That's sad. You're OK though so that's the big thing. Cars can be fixed.

Anytime you're involved in an accident and aren't at fault, you need a physician to take a look at you same day, as well as followup, and you absolutely should lawyer up. Insurance companies have great lawyers, you should too. A good lawyer will more than pay for themselves.

We need the details of the story. At first thought when someone gets a relatively powerful car and wrecks it a few day after getting it we tend to jump to the conclusion that you did something foolish and this is the result.
I sure hope I'm wrong but without the backstory this is what automaticly comes to mind.

Welcome to the Busted Classic Owners Club, my friend. We have weekly meetings comprised of drinking heavily and crying until our respective car is back on the road. Hope you're okay, but your Camaro can definitely be fixed.
My car is currently in a similar shape.
P.S. I've always loved that color Camaro. Good choice!

If you can get it up to central Indiana, I can help out. That sucks man. Hope you're okay.

That sucks, man! I was just checking your post asking for advice and now it's busted...
Hope you're well though! From the pics it looks fixable so I'm sure you'll get it back in shape!
Good luck!

I've never had a blue car before and I love it!

I hear you on the assumptions thing with powerful cars in accidents, but that was not the case here. Panic stop in front of me, not much I could do. I made another post this morning with what happened.
![]() 07/17/2014 at 13:55 |

Yup, had it 2 days, and then, fender bender.

I'm fine, no insurance $ cuz I cheaped out and only did PLPD. However, no one was hurt, and it's ultimately just a thing.

I made another post this morning with a basic rundown. I'll attempt a link to it here: http://idiotinthegarage.kinja.com/i-now-own-a-le…

Core support actually took most of accident. It's what ruined the radiator. But the classic car guy I found bent it back into useful shape.

That sucks sooooo hard, man. But look at it this way, at least now you have an excuse to make some upgrades since you have to take the front off of it anyway!

I just read your other post about it. The situation is eerily similar. Stop and go traffic, Nissan Murano slammed on their brakes and I couldn't react in time. Both parties were totally fine, which was a huge relief. And the woman could not have been nicer. The state trooper mentioned that he should right me a ticket for following too close, and the woman I hit actually begged him not to because "it was just an accident" and I'm "such a nice kid." Thank god. My insurance bill could not handle a ticket. Luckily though, I just got a new nose and radiator, and I think the hood is salvageable but money is tight (I'm a college kid with a classic car... Really bad combo for my bank account).
And the 2002 is actually blue too, though much lighter. Blue is certainly a great color on most classic cars, but doesn't seem to work as well on newer ones... Weird.
I saw you got the Camaro home! Thats a bit of good news. I hope it makes a full recovery soon!
